Sunblossom Solar Gifts of Manchester, Mich. uses light to make solar powered indoor wind chimes.
“They all have a small solar cell or a solar panel on them that takes the light that energizes the movement or energizes a very soothing chiming sound,” said artist and president, Bonnie Greenwald.
The chimes are sold nationwide at galleries, gift shops and garden centers. Greenwald said her products are even sometimes sold as memorials to loved ones. Mostly, she said her products are a moment of peace in a high-tech world.
“It’s very lovely to come home from a busy day at work that maybe hectic or pressure filled and walk in and hear this gentle little chiming. It is very soothing,” said Greenwald.
